NEA Jazz Master, renowned Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, and Tony Award nominee BRANFORD MARSALIS is one of the most revered instrumentalists of his time. The eldest of the famed Marsalis brothers, Branford gained critical acclaim through his work with jazz giants Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, and Sonny Rollins before becoming a household name as Musical Director for The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno in the early 1990s. Collaborating with symphony orchestras, playwrights, and diverse artists like Sting, the Grateful Dead, and Bruce Hornsby, Branford and his jazz quartet have long been recognized as the standard to which other ensembles of its kind are measured. This opportunity for an up close and personal evening with one of the century’s most acclaimed musicians is sure to be one of the premier CPPAC performances of the year.
