Shrek 1
Shrek The Musical, Jr.
 June 1 - 20 |  Ages: 13-18


Is your teenager ready for the next musical challenge? Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animation film and Broadway musical, Shrek Jr. is part romance, part twisted tale with everyone’s favorite ogre leading the cast of fairytale misfits. Under the direction of actor, playwright, and Tisch School for the Arts graduate Brianna Larson, this three-week teen intensive musical is for the student who already has some performance experience and wants to dive deeper into musical theatre. Students will spend time working on vocals, movement, and acting in preparation for a fully staged production with lights, set, costumes, and their amazing skills!

Orientation:  May 26 at 7pm
Performances:  June 19 at 7pm & June 20 at 11am
Camp Days & Times: Mon-Fri, 9a-4p
Cost: $395 resident/$450 non-resident


Moana
Disney's Moana, Jr.
July 6 - 25 | Ages: 9-13

Is your young performer ready for a role in a play? Then this camp is for them! Featuring songs written by Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda, Disney’s Moana Jr. is about the strong-willed daughter of the chief of a Polynesian village, who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite a mystical relic with a goddess. Under the direction of actor, playwright, and Tisch School for the Arts graduate Brianna Larson, this camp’s safe and rewarding environment will offer campers the opportunity to explore introductory aspects of musical theatre, build lifelong skills, meet new friends, and perform on a professional stage!

Orientation:  June 29 at 7pm
Performances:  July 24 at 7pm & July 25 at 11am
Camp Days & Times: Mon-Fri, 9a-4p

Cost: $395 resident/$450 non-resident


Production camp
Technical Theatre Production Camp
July 13 - 25 | Ages: 12-18


Led by entertainment industry professionals, participants in this camp will learn skills in working with scenery, rigging, audio, sound and lighting equipment, culminating in the live performance of a summer camp show where participants will apply their new skills.


Orientation:  June 29 at 7pm
Performances:  July 24 at 7pm & July 25 at 11am
Camp Days & Times: Mon-Fri, 9a-4p

Cost: $250 resident/$280 non-resident


Registration
Registration for the 2020 Theatre Summer Camps is open! Registration must be done in person at either the Highland Recreation ComplexSouthwest Recreation Complex, or the Largo Community Center. Scholarships
Need- and talent-based scholarships are available.  Please complete a scholarship application and send with supporting paperwork to rmondora@largo.com or drop off at CPPAC during regular business hours.  Deadline to apply for talent scholarship is March 13 at 5pm.  Talent and need based scholarships available until all funds are awarded or camps are full. Scholarships funded by the Central Park Performing Arts Foundation.


Before & After Care
Before and after care services are available for all camp weeks. Each service is $10/week for residents ($13/week for non-residents). Before Care is offered from 7:30am to 9:00am; After Care is offered from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.


About the Director
Brianna Larson is an actor, playwright, director, and teaching artist who will join the CPPAC team in the summer of 2020 to direct the Shrek, Jr. and Moana, Jr. camps. She graduated in 2012 with a BFA in Theatre from the drama program at the Tisch School for the Arts at New York University where she studied acting and playwriting. She has performed and produced her original work in New York City; St. Louis, MO; Dublin, Ireland and Tampa Bay. After being awarded Theatre Tampa Bay's Jeff Norton Dream Grant, Brianna produced Tampa's first 4x6 fest: A 24-hour play festival that produced new original work by 6 Tampa playwrights from start to finish in just 24 hours. She was also nominated for Outstanding Director of a Play by Theatre Tampa Bay for her work with Powerstories Theatre.
